Bio Frida Harari Sitton, born in 1985, Mexico City, Mexico, is a painter and filmmaker. Harari Sitton’s works on canvas combine abstract painting techniques with neon light to focus on the dynamics of color, texture and light. Her work explores visual perceptions through transparent, colorful materials. The compositions of and play between overlapping color and light are secondary to the viewer’s perception of the ephemeral concept of reflection. Frida Harari Sitton wrote, produced and directed the musical short film "Esa de Rojo", which opened the door to her career in film, participating in Hola Mexico Film Festival in Los Angeles, California in 2009 and Oaxaca Film Festival in México the same year. In 2015, she wrote, produced and directed Phosphenes an experimental art short film, which was an official selection in more than ten international film festivals (NYFA, FICMO, Calella, FIBAC, ABC Spain, Bahamas Film Festival), and was awarded the prize in its category and jury prize for the film festival of Ottawa, Canada (FICMO). Frida Harari Sitton’s artwork is held in international private collections and has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in Mexico City, NYC and Miami. Her film, Phosphenes, has been featured in the Tamayo Museum of Contemporary Art in Mexico City.
